The Ebonyi state IPOB Coordinator Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya who was abducted
on 18th August, 2020 at Ugwulangwu Ohaozara LGA Ebonyi state by the Nigeria
police force, department of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Abakaliki has
regained his freedom after twenty-three days of incarceration and detention in
the police custody at the Ebonyi state police headquarters.
Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya was released by the police on bail after the members
of IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, made series of countless efforts to secure his
release.
The family members of IPOB across Ebonyi state was filed with
unquantified joy following the release of their state coordinator.
Reaching his country home at Ugwulangwu, the Ezeoke Chima and his
kinsmen gave him a royal and warm welcome.
The Ezeoke Chima Youths president, Comrade Obasi Chizoba Udeh
appreciated the family members of IPOB globally, the Ebonyi state family for
working assiduously to release their son Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya.
Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya Igweson the elder brother to Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya, speaking for
and on behalf of the family appreciated those who worked fervently to secure
the release of their brother, son and father.
Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya expressed his level of joy and appreciation over the
warm welcome given to him by IPOB family members and relatives, especially the
Ezeoke Chima youths of Ugwulangwu Ohaozara LGA Ebonyi state.
Reacting to the allegation that he has given out IPOB Ebonyi principal
officers names and details to the Nigeria police for arrest and prosecution, he
explained that he never had such a discussion with the police or tried to
implicate anyone.
He reaffirmed that nothing shall ever make him give up on the quest to
restore Biafra, irrespective of what may come his way.
