We must recall that so many Biafrans who were attending
the funeral of the parents of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu were ambushed and kidnapped
before they could arrive at the venue by the Nigeria Army and Police SARS.
As the Media Team continued to scream for their release
with clear evidence of how they were abducted, they quickly released them to
the States CID and levelled various unfounded criminal charges against them.
Today, the five men were all dragged to the Magistrate
Court in Afaraukwu with criminal charges ranging from terrorism, kidnapping,
hostage taking, possession of explosive weapons etc. They are:
1. Mr Okeke Aweka (50 years)
2. Mr Chigbo Onuoha (34 years)
3. Ikeme Nnamdi (27 years)
4. Mr Paul Nweke (32 years)
5. Mr Agbosu Goodwin (33 years, the Driver)
But the Magistrate Court could not hear the case because
it has no jurisdiction to handle such weighty case, and as such could not grant
them bail. The case is expected to be heard at the High Court in the next date.
The case was adjourned and they were all remanded in
prison custody. It is so appalling to see our brothers appeared in handcuffs
inside the Court. This country has failed completely.
