On this day the 29th of September 2019, the entire Eleme province
which comprises of all the local government area. IPOB Eleme L.G.A. with New
Town, Akpajo Zone, Onne Zone, Aleto Zone 1, Alesa Zone, Aleto Zone 2, came together
to celebrate Iri Ji Ohuru (New Yam Festival). A festival that is annually
celebrated amongst the Igbo Nation mostly from August to September.
This festival is occasionally organized to thank the
giver of Ji (Yam) as a sacred food for blessing the land and unity among us.
Others who don’t know tradition celebrate it outside the land where Yam is not
planted which is also sacrilegious in Igbo Nation.
However, IPOB
Eleme L.G.A used the medium to come together in one voice to thank Chukwu Okike
Abiama for blessing us and doing as tradition demand. The Iri ji Ohuru
celebration was used to display our cultural heritage and the Biafra struggle.
IPOB Eleme evangelized the good news of Biafra to neighbours. They also used
the medium to remind everyone that Biafra is their only destination and going
back until the sovereign state of Biafra is restored.
IPOB Eleme told Rivers State Media correspondence that
they wouldn’t change their resolve and support for the leader of the Indigenous
People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and deputized by Mazi Uchenna Okafor
Mefor because they are the only trusted people to get the job done. They gave
their massive support and assured the leadership of IPOB worldwide that Eleme indigenes
are strongly behind IPOB leadership. They lamented that their land is spilled
with oil, they have a lots of oil wells and the FG is enjoying it all alone.
We IPOB Eleme is using this medium also to call on the
good people of the world to come to our aid to free us from this crime against humanity
called Nigeria. The Iri ji Ohuru celebration was organized to bring both the
Igbos and the Eleme indigenes of Rivers State to know they are one people.
Shockingly, most of the Eleme indigene’s bears Igbo names but the media has
been lying for decades that they are not Igbos but the simple truth is, we are
one the indigene said.
In summary, Iri ji Ohuru celebration will continue till
the ends of Earth. Even after Biafra is restored. We must continue propagating
the gospel of Biafra till the ends of the Earth. We must remain resolute,
formidable, relentless, fearless before our enemies. No going back until
freedom is achieved. All hail Biafra the children of light.
