1st October 2019 was initially scheduled to celebrate Nigeria crazy independence anniversary. Schools and offices were shut down to enable people to mark the occasion. It is an imperative event. Still, the security agents used it as a medium to forcefully and aggressively vent their anger on already troubled and traumatized citizens of Biafra in the southeastern part of Nigeria that are diligently and meticulously seeking for their outright freedom and total independence.
They filled the day of Nigerian independence with a blood bath of the innocent citizens of Biafraland. They turned that day for the Igbere region of Aba South to a gloomy and perturbed day that one may not likely speak on, so often. What the men in uniform did to the people at Igbere Street via Ibadan road by Ngwa in Aba south is unprecedented and unnecessary. The problem started when one policeman, who could not control his passion of forcefully collecting one hundred naira bribe from Motorcyclists, tricyclists and Motorists with continuous intimidation unluckily killed himself as he wanted to shoot a Tricycle operator.
This unfavourable scenario aggravated the Nigeria security forces to reinforce and vent their anger on the innocent homes and the people who knew nothing about the unfortunate event. The gun trotting security agents came shooting sporadically, which led to the death of many people. They burnt down eight (8) buildings that ran into several millions of Nigeria Naira and arrested more than thirty-eight (38) innocent people so far. The arrests continue unabated even to the time of writing this report, on Wednesday 2nd October 2019. It is a shame that the local media tried to hide the truth from the rest of the world, which has not helped their already tainted reputation.
Upon so many surprises witnessed on that black day, it is shocking that security men were seen looting the properties of people openly and no one has the tenacity to say stop, because they were armed to the teeth to shoot at anybody at close range. These events had liquidated many homes and families who don’t know anything about what happened and can undoubtedly lead many people back to the village. This type of humiliation and injustice are what we continue to suffer in Aba, Abia state where Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is the chief security officer of the state.
The wickedness and the hatred in the heart of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are just terrible, and the division is so glaring that we cannot be together again. It is Biafra, or nothing exists in Nigeria. Without mincing words, the action and attitude of the security men aggravated the anger of the people and the hunger for freedom. This high wall that the Yoruba race and their Fulani counterparts are building has grown so high that no one can cross over to the other side.
All hail Biafra
