Abia State was at the centre of the media pages as it
recorded highest threats, arrests, brutality and killings by the state
Government and Security operatives in attempt to stop the 30th May Heroes Day
Remembrance which was announced by the Indigenous People Of Biafra - IPOB under
the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Listen to the first threat from the Abia State Commissioner
of Police Mr Etim Okon who happens to come from Cross River State in BIAFRA
Land. "The command that is headed by me does not know what is Biafra; we
cannot have another country within a country. We remain Nigerians, living in
Nigeria. So, they cannot celebrate any day, BIAFRA HAS NO DAY TO CELEBRATE."
Above statement truly shows how backward the contraption
called Nigeria has become.
The Commissioner Etim Okon in same interview was captured
saying:
"The assertion that IPOB don’t carry arm, is none of
my business, they have been classified as terrorist Organization and that is
final until they prove to the entire world that they are not a terrorist
organization. But who says they do not carry arms, have you searched and did
not see any arms? Do terrorists brandish arms? Nnamdi Kanu is still a wanted
man and will face trial if he returns to the country, He is already a wanted
man. You and I knew how he escaped; he is standing trial already, so, any time
he steps in here and he is seen, he has to be arrested and handed over to the
court to face his trial.”
The NIGERIAN Army was not left out. They launched
Operation Python dance 3. They patrolled the entire state in armoured Personnel
Carriers and Vans arresting and intimidating citizens for no crime committed.
Several Reports of young men arrested while returning from their shops and
offices abound. They went on air, assuring the Masses to ignore the Call
because they were going to provide them with Security.
It is on record that after all these threats and counter
threats in Abia State, several videos and photos covered on that day, showed
that Abia State complied by a 100% to the Sit-At-Home instruction by IPOB.
The Ariaria International market and biggest market in
West Africa was captured totally shutdown and under lock and key. The Cemetery
Market, second biggest market in Abia State was under lock and key. The Ahia Ohuru
(New Market) was equally shutdown and under lock and key.
Every commercial activity in Abia State came to a stop
because the people have come to find truth in the message of IPOB led by Mazi
Nnamdi Kanu. They have understood the stories of the Nigerian Civil War and the
injustice still going on till date. They are all speaking with one voice asking
for a Referendum date. The people of Abia State stayed in their homes on 30th
May as a mark of honour for the fallen Heroes.
It is worthy of note, that IPOB chose the 30th May as a Memorial
Day because that was the exact date in 1967 when the defunct Republic of Biafra
was declared by late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. It was a Day after the SE
region received a horrific news of the biggest Pogrom against the Igbos
executed by the Nigerian Government. THE DECLARATION OF A BIAFRAN STATE WAS NOT
A CALL FOR WAR BUT A CALL FOR SURVIVAL. This call, is what has left some of us
alive today because Nigeria was out to exterminate the entire Eastern region
and occupy it because of the Oil and other natural resources located in this
part of the country.
We therefore, appreciate the resoluteness of Abia State
people in obedience to Sit-At-Home instruction to commemorate our fallen Heroes
and also awaken our consciousness to the ills going on in Nigeria and why we
must come together and seek for a Free and true Country we can boldly and
proudly call our Country.
God bless the people of Abia State.
God bless the Indigenous people of BIAFRA
God bless Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
Come quickly, Oh BIAFRA.
