Recall that on the 22/5/19, 140 members of IPOB on
transit to Enugu, were ambushed and arrested by the Nigerian Military and they
have been in detention till date.
Reports from States Media Team Enugu has it that, after
several hours in the Court, there was no Police representation and the 140 IPOB
members were yet to be seen anywhere around the Court premises.
When IPOB legal representatives enquired why, an official
of the prisons simply said there was no Logistics to convey 140 Members of IPOB
to Court.
There was a break.
.....................................
The Court reconvened by 2:00 pm
Good news! According to IPOB Barrister Tony, the Magistrate has very
confidently and magnanimously granted bail to all 140 detainees and requested 7
persons to stand as surety for them. Each surety to be a level 10 Civil Service
worker with minimum of 1 million in his/her account.
The lawyer went further to praise the courage of the lady
Magistrate for standing on the side of Truth without allowing undue pressure
from any quarter. He concluded that the 7 people will be presented and between
now and Monday, they will all regain their freedom.
