The fallen heroes and heroines during and after the war
worth to be remembered as recently done in Biafra land on every 30th of May.
This Remembrance Day was not recognized or slated by the
Nigerian government to commemorate the death of the fallen heroes and heroines
because the war was a genocide and many war crimes were committed. The Nigerian
government and her counterpart, Britain conspired to hide the details of the
war from the rest of the world. The genocide they coined war were full of
crimes committed by most of the persons in today’s government of Nigeria, such
persons are the main culprits and they are, Yakubu Gowon, Olusegun Obasanjo, T.
Y. Danjuma, Ibrahim Babangida, the present president, Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari,
to name but few. The government of Nigeria refused to set aside a day to
remember the fallen heroes and heroines from the Biafra extraction to elude from
the world that such genocide occurred, but set aside every 15th January to
commemorate the fallen heroes from the northern and western extractions.
It was in 2015
that the leadership of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB decided to set
aside every 30th May, to commemorate the death of innocent persons that were
killed during the genocide in 1967 to 1970 and thereafter. This Remembrance Day
was initially celebrated at a designated place on every 30th May, but in 2016,
the Nigerian government with her military attacked the Biafrans that gathered
to honour the fallen heroes and heroines at Nkpor, Anambra State and many were
killed. After the attack and killing, the leadership of the Indigenous People
Of Biafra, I.P.O.B, decided to commemorate the day with sitting at home in
Biafraland and those in diaspora celebrate in a designated place to avoid
killing of innocent people again by the Nigerian Military. Starting from 2017
till date, it has been commemorated by sitting at home for those in Biafraland
and there were total adherence and compliance by the people.
I urge the people to comply with the Remembrance Day to
commemorate the death of the fallen heroes and heroines that laid their lives
to protect us, that we may live to restore the sovereign state of Biafra.
