This fracas which started since Monday the 7th of January 2019 has continued unabated till today 9th of January 2019. The Yoruba hoodlums on Monday, started from the market area of Ladipo by Breaking down shops of Biafran Traders who had travelled to the Southeast for Christmas celebration with their relatives. These hoodlums in their hundreds, stormed the shops, breaks them down, loots the goods and set fire over whatever is left.

As Biafran Traders ran back to Lagos to see if they can gather whatever is left, they are faced with more wreckages in their residential areas close to this Market.

At the wee hours of Wednesday the 8th of January and this morning 9th of January, the hoodlums stormed yet again at the residential homes of Biafrans who were still sleeping and broke down their homes, destroying their properties worth millions of Naira and chasing them out.

In all of this unprovoked recklessness, there has been no response from the State Government nor Security Forces to intervene and stop this lawlessness.

On investigation of the cause of this attack, a Biafran resident in one of the affected houses told our correspondent that the hoodlums said the properties in those areas no longer belong to the Biafrans who acquired them decades ago and that they must vacate it or risk their lives.

From the Video attached to this briefing by our correspondent, you will see the level of destruction caused and a Biafran Victim who narrated his ordeal in the hands of these young Yoruba men. You will find the dejection and frustrations in the faces of our people as they managed to pick pieces of their broken furniture and wares amidst the confusion as they try to relocate to wherever they can find shelter. So many Biafrans may not even be as lucky as picking up pieces of their wares because they are still in the East for the Christmas break.

This wickedness and humiliation on us are a clear message that we (Biafrans) are no longer wanted in Nigeria.
