The Nnia Nwodo agents of restructuring must have lost
their memory, or trying to distort history or just comfortable being a
political puppet in the hands of the Fulani cabals and the Sokoto caliphate.
Recall that in the 60's the attention of the world was draw to the suffering
and courage of people who fought for thirty months blockaded, starved without
any hope of import, fighting for survival. Biafrans who were on the defensive
never wanted to fight war, they only wanted the country restructured that was
what lead to Aburi accord.
On the 4th of January 1967 Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu
Ojukwu (veteran) and other military governors went to Aburi to find a peaceful
resolution to the current unset in the country, the following resolutions where
made:
1. The
immediate resumption of the Ad hoc committee to work out a constitutional
future for Nigeria.
2. The
payment of salaries until 31st march 1967 of all Staff and employees of
government and Statuary Corporation and any other who were forced to leave
their post as a result of the counter coup
3. The
setting up in the meantime of a committee to look into the problem of rehabilitation
of displaced persons, and the recovery of their properties.
4. The
exclusion of the use of force as the means of settling any difference within
the country.
5. The
repealing of all decrees which tended to over centralize power at the expense
of region autonomy, this would be followed by the enactment of a decree before
the 21st January to restore the regions to their political position prior to
January 15, 1966.
On the advice of some federal Senior civil servants Gowon
on arrival rejected and denied most of these decisions which made Ojukwu to
convene a meeting of advisory committee of chiefs and elders at Enugu on the
26th of May 1967 he gave the committee three alternative solution to the crises
1. To accept the terms of the north and Gowon and thereby
submit to domination, by the north
2. To continue the present stalemate and drift
3. Ensure the survival of the people by asserting their
autonomy
On 27th of May 1967 the Eastern consultative assembly
mandated Ojukwu to declare eastern Nigeria a free sovereign and independent
state by the name Republic of Biafra.
Another was the 3 R'S:
Reconciliation
Reconstruction
Rehabilitation
That is another deception, when all the destruction was
in Biafra land but reconstruction started in Lagos that never saw war for a
day, where is the rehabilitation when all our properties where tagged abandoned
properties and banks gave loan to Hausa Fulani and Yoruba to buy them, was
there reconciliation when until date we are being killed and subjected to all
manner of injustice by the Nigerian state. What of the likes of Ken Saro Wiwa
that where killed, was he also fighting for a sovereign state? No, he was
actually fighting for restructuring. What about the 2014 Confab report why was
it not implemented, was secession part of the resolutions?
The Nigerian state can never allow restructuring of this
country, instead more pythons will be dancing in our lands, the issue of
restructuring is like that of the second Niger bridge that always come out once
every four years as campaign promise and after that its gone dead and buried,
Nnia Nwodo and all the alleged Igbo leaders are not playing the politics of
memory because one cannot restructure where there is no structures. Support
Biafra referendum for total dismemberment of Nigeria, Biafra remains our only
hope of a better tomorrow.
