The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in Ebonyi state today 11th November,
2018 held their general meeting in Abakaliki, the capital city of the state. It
was indeed a massive turnout from all the nooks and crannies of the state.
Members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra from different units and
zones from all the 13 local government areas in the state attended the meeting,
members of the state, senatorial, local government area principal officers in
the state as well attended the general meeting.
Immediately after the opening prayer for the meeting by Bishop
Nwachinemere Stanley, the state IPOB PRO, the state coordinator Mazi Igwe
Ogbonnaya welcomed all and appreciated them for coming from their different
domiciles to the meeting.
Reports were received by the heads of respective departments in the
state, on her report, the state women leader, Mrs Chioma Iwuala outlined the
activities of the women in the state, the past and upcoming events, she
informed the general house about the planned evangelical rallies that will take
place in all the local government areas in the state by the women. She added
that the dates for each local government shall soon be released.
One of the coordinator from Ebonyi south senatorial district, Mazi
Justice Ede the zonal coordinator of Ugwulangwu, lamented over the
unavailability of the Radio Biafra London frequency in the entire south, he
complained that many would be glad to join the family of IPOB if they can have
the relay station that can transmit to cover their jurisdiction, he added that
if the leadership of IPOB could provide them with a transmitter, that it will
go a long way to cover some parts of Cross River.
A local coordinator from Ikwo, Mazi Okoha John appreciated the women for
the evangelical rally they attended at Ikwo on the first week of November,
2018. He reported that many persons have so far identified with the family
after the evangelism.
Mazi Innocent Igbakpo a member from Igbagu in Izzi LGA, Ebonyi state
reported that the interstate war between their community and some communities
in Cross River state has truncated and affected the activities of the struggle
in their area, because the Nigeria army has joined in waging war against the
Izzi community for alleging that the community defence forces killed a Nigeria
soldier while illegally confronting the forces of Izzi community.
While addressing some issues of concern raised by some persons in the meeting
during the general and other business, Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya the state
coordinator expressed concern over the matters affecting the people of the
state, assuring them that the leadership of IPOB shall adequately look into it
as to find lasting solutions to the issues wrecking the progress of the
struggle in the state. He encouraged all and sundry in the state to remain
resolute and strong, noting that Biafra restoration is closer than anyone
could imagine.
