Nigeria is a disgrace to sovereignty; her independence added the ingredients of assaults and mockery into the already existing sovereignty of doom. Independence is celebrated all over the world, but one out of it all made a huge mess out of them all, and that is Nigeria's. Research has proven that there are four sets of people that made Nigeria a substance of mockery.
Firstly, The amalgamation of Nigeria in the first place was and remains the greatest joke of the century. Chinua Achebe citing an Igbo proverb in his “There was a country” tells us that a man who does not know where the rain started to beat him cannot say where he dried his body. The rain that beat Nigeria began more than a decade ago, from the resolutions of the Berlin conference of 1884/1885 to the economic-driven amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates of Nigeria in 1914 by Lord Lugard. When the British set foot on the area presently known as Nigeria, it was a cacophony of many nations; nations which the British preferred to call “tribes”. Therefore, the amalgamators became the first group of people to mock Nigeria.
Secondly, The folly independence that accompanied this joke called Nigeria had separately mocked her. How can one be independent and at the same time controlled by the predecessors? The British government has 95% control of Nigeria, and some people are still deceiving themselves with a phantom independence. Hausa's and Yorubas are the tools while the political leaders in Biafra land serve as the farmland. The British government gives orders while the laborers set to work with their tools. At the other edge, innocent Biafrans bears the burden; while Nigeria continuously is mocked. Those responsible for the independence of Nigeria will forfeit their crimes in any circumstance.
Thirdly, after the independence, every other Nigerian opportune to serve the country will only serve him/herself instead. Following the corrupt foundations and backgrounds of the country, the political class was immune in atrocities. After 58 years of independence, schools, roads, hospitals, electricity is still a tagline of electorates. Even at that, those promises only come through in the jungle gotten media houses. What a mockery! Fourthly, A great writer and an Economist well known in the century, Lakhdar Brahimi had quoted "I think a failed state is the responsibility of the people who have made that state fail, and those are generally the people of that country. It has been known to all and sundry that Nigeria is evil. The recent happenings in Nigeria serve as evidence but some myopic ignoramuses are still calling for a United Nigeria. How possible it is to call for a unity of something that has never been united?
After decades of strict enforcement during the cold war of the principle of territorial integrity, the independence of Slovenia from the former Yugoslavia, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the division of former Czechoslovakia, and the separation of Eritrea from Ethiopia have opened the floodgates. Today, secessionist tensions are more and more evident, with flashpoints on all continents. Official and unofficial independence referenda in 2014 in Scotland, Catalonia, and the Crimea have put secession once again firmly under the spotlight. Independence across the world has shown that Independence comes with significant economic benefits and many more. However, the case of Nigeria is contradicting the issue.
China, America, Malaysia, etc Japan was once in lifetime colonized and independent. These countries mentioned above sacrificed so much before their independence. Today, they emerge strong, great and powerful. Nigeria was dependent too but became independent with little or no effort. And today they become more dependent than they were before 1960. What has really gone wrong? While these countries celebrate great achievements, while their electorate uses diversified tagline for election campaigns, Nigerians and government celebrates the deaths of innocent civilians, treacherous acts and life threats; Nigerian politicians are using roads, schools and social amenities for excuse to be voted in, whereas these were supposed to the fundamental and basic provision that was supposed to be available from inception.

First October of every year should be boycotted. If I had the power I'll ask the Highest Creator to wipe out such day from the days of the calendar. Nigeria's history was stripped naked by such event called independence. In fact, Nnamdi Azikiwe will be stoned to death If he resurrects right away. The creation of an independence in Nigeria is better practice as adding a strong acid to already reacting substance.
The truth is the only solution. Charles Spurgeon in his quote said that "A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth Charles Spurgeon". Also, Winston Churchill said that "the truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. The hardest truth any promoter of Nigeria would love to hear is to disintegrate the nonsense entity. However, this is the only solution to the problems eluding Nigeria. The disintegration of Nigeria will keep down the faces of these four set of people and return the huge shame to them.
