THE matter between IPOB Ebonyi state and the Nigeria police force which
was scheduled for hearing today September 25, 2018 was shifted to October 25,
2018 because magistrate Stella Ugoeke who was to preside over the case could
not come as well as the Nigeria police who are the prosecutors.
Recall that the Nigeria police force department of Anti Kidnapping in
Abakaliki arrested seven members of IPOB on 25th March, 2018 while attending
the burial of late John Nwoke the deputy welfare officer Ebonyi state IPOB at
Effium in Ohaukwu LGA Ebonyi state.
Among those arrested were Ogbuka Franklin, Chukwu Jacinta, Pius Iziriga,
Eze Daniel Obinna, Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya the state coordinator and others.
Since the matter was taken to court by the Nigeria police, it has
suffered series of adjournment and postponement.
On the matter today, the counsel to IPOB, Barr. Cyril Orogwu and his
colleagues as well as hundreds of IPOB members in the state stormed the
Magistrate court Abakaliki for the hearing over the case but the magistrate who
ought to preside over the case and the prosecutors could not come, before the
matter was shifted to October 25th 2018 for hearing.
Counsel to IPOB, Barrister Orogwu Cyril encourage the members of IPOB to
always come whenever the matter is scheduled for hearing because in the end
freedom will be achieved.
Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya the Ebonyi state coordinator also appreciated his
members present and those absent in the court for their resoluteness on the
struggle for Biafra restoration in the state. According to him "we
appreciate you for keeping it on till now, we shall stop at nothing but freedom
because Chukwu-Okike-Abiama is with us".
