The Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) women wings drawn from all parts
of Biafra land gathered at Owerri the capital city of Imo state (Imo province
of Biafra) on Friday, August 17 2018, to further display to the whole world how
displeased they are over the incarceration of the indigenous people of Biafra
led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the entire Biafrans by the Nigeria government.
Meanwhile the Nigeria police force after dispersing the IPOB women
peaceful protesters with tear gas, harassing, firing of ammunitions, and also
arrested some of them.
During the protest they equally made it known to the world that the
forced Union between the indigenous people of Arewa, Oduduwa and Biafra by Lord
Frederick Lugard which begot Nigeria, could not work despite efforts to make it
work.
They used the opportunity to call on the United Nations and other
concerned international organizations to conduct a referendum for Biafrans to
make their choice either to remain in Nigeria or go their separate ways.
The previous efforts of Biafran people to secede from Nigeria in 1967
after the Aburi Accord in Ghana led to a brutal war that claimed the lives
of over 3.5 million of Biafrans with women and children topping the rate of the
genocidal war committed by the Nigeria government and her allies.
Late Major Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu led the Biafra defence forces
against Nigeria on the war that lasted almost three years between 1967-1970,
during the war. The Nigeria government then led by General Yakubu Gowon, in
alliance with their British dictators cum colonial masters subjected Biafrans
into untold hardship, hunger, illness, mass murder, inhuman degradation, the
helpless Biafrans were unleashed with all kinds of mayhem which was covered up
through the help of their brown envelope media.
After many years of the ugly experience of Biafrans from the Nigeria
government, the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
boldly came out to fight for their right of self-determination and to restore
Biafra as a sovereign nation.
IPOB has been rated as the most peaceful, wisest and the largest freedom
fighting group in the world despite the killings of her members by the Nigeria
security operatives since 1999 when MASSOB led by Ralph Uwazurike was in active
agitation for Biafra restoration, down to 2015 when the Indigenous People Of Biafra
went to the street on a peaceful demonstration to the world on their
persecution from Nigeria government.
Hundreds of IPOB which were illegally arrested by the Nigeria police and
their joint forces are still languishing in various Nigeria prison dungeon
without charging them to court. Some whose cases are in court both in the
magistrate and federal high courts in Nigeria suffer series of court
adjournments, delay and denied justice.
The Nigeria government, South East governors and the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo,
unanimously proscribed the nonviolent IPOB group and launched the army
operation Python Dance 1&2 in Biafra land to forcefully thwart the legal
activities of IPOB. On September 14, 2017 the Nigeria army invaded the palace
of HRH Eze Israel Kanu, the Eze udo 1 of Afara Ukwu Ibeku, the father of the
IPOB leader in Umuahia Abia state.
Recall that the Nigeria federal high court sitting in Abuja once
declared IPOB as a legal organization that has the freedom of assembly,
association and all the fundamental human right, Justice Binta Nyako made this
declaration in the competent court of jurisdiction, before the greedy selfish
Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, South East governors and the cabals in south East conspired
to illegally proscribe IPOB.
On the Nigeria army's attack in the home of HRH Eze Israel Kanu, which
led to the disappearance of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents, equally claimed
the lives of over 100 members of IPOB, some of the victims were secretly dumped
in the Bushes by the perpetrators as many sustained various degrees of gun
injuries from the Nigeria army.
The IPOB women who came from Ebonyi, Enugu, Delta, Abia, Onitsha, Imo,
Igweocha, Cross River and all the nooks and crannies of Biafra land, protested
against the injustice and the evil meted on their children by the Nigeria
government.
They called on the quick intervention of the United Nations, United
States and other international communities to avert the looming doom, which
peradventure if does occur will cause more harm to the Africa continent and the
entire black race than good, saying that "Biafrans will fight with all
they have to the last drop of their blood to exit the expired contraption
Nigeria".
Many IPOB members and close observers of the happenings on the
activities of IPOB noted that the restoration of Biafra is at hand because the
supreme leader of the group Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on one of his broadcast in Radio
Biafra London said "The day our women came out know that the freedom of
Biafra is close" thousands of Biafran women came out to make their stand
known to the world which in a layman understanding signifies the restoration of
Biafra.
