The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Wednesday, May
23rd 2018 took to the streets, markets and public places in all the nooks and
crannies of Biafra land to campaign and sensitize for Biafrans to 'Sit-At-Home'
come May 30th in honour of those who died in the struggle for Biafra freedom
from 1967 till date.
The sensitization took place in almost all the cities
across Biafra land respectively such as Enugwu, Onitsha, Nnewi, Igweocha, Aba,
Abakaliki, Umuahia just to mention but few.
Flyers and posters were distributed during the campaign
for people to further read at home and during their leisure for effective
compliance.
May 30th yearly is used to remember and honour the heroes
and heroines who died in the struggle for Biafra freedom from the time of civil
war between Nigeria and Biafra from 1967-1970 which claimed the lives of more
than 3.5 million Biafrans mainly women and children and thereafter especially
those massacred in cold blood by the Nigeria arm forces and security operatives
in the agitation by IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to restore Biafra.
The Indigenous People Of Biafra declared May 30th of
every year as 'Sit-At-Home' due to the sensitivity and relevant of the day
which is used to remember in a special way the high level of sacrifice paid by
all the Biafra men and women who lost their lives fighting for Biafra to be
free from the British contraption called Nigeria.
Many were extremely glad seeing the flags of Biafra
flying above as they received the message in good faith with full assurance to
comply to the order to 'Sit-At-Home' come Wednesday, 30th May in remembrance
and honour of those heroes and heroines who paid the ultimate price for Biafra
freedom.
There was no news of arrest made by the Nigeria security
operatives during and after the campaign due to diplomacy used by IPOB in
disseminating the information.
It is very important for all and sundry in Biafra land
especially Biafrans both home and abroad to duly observe the 'Sit-At-Home' on
May 30th, because it will further prove to the whole world that Biafrans need
freedom and they are willing and ready to do anything to get it restored.
