Ebonyi state IPOB under the supreme leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu held their first meeting of the year on Wednesday 3, 2018 at Izza Ezekuna Ebonyi state Biafra land. The meeting started with praises, wordship and prayer to Chukwuokike Abiama, which was conducted by Bishop Stanley Nwachinemerem who is also the state IPOB PRO. The members of IPOB who gathered for the meeting prayed for forgiveness of sins and prayed for speedy restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra, they equally prayed for the release of all the members of IPOB and Biafrans who are in different Nigeria prisons as a result of the struggle to restore Biafra, they also prayed for the souls of those who was killed by the Nigeria military and security operatives during the peaceful demonstration of IPOB members in Biafra land and those who was decimated on 10 and 14 September, 2017 at the home of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Afaraukwu Ibeku Abia state Biafra land.
There after introduction of those in attendance was made and all the zonal coordinators, LGA coordinators, senatorial district coordinator, State executive members and some members of IPOB in Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Imo, Lagos and Abuja were in attendance. The number of those who attended the meeting were about five hundred persons which includes men, women and youth.
The leader of IPOB in the state Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya while addressing the people appreciated them so much especially those who came from other states to be part of the meeting, he also urged them to put their house in order and stand firm for the last stage of the struggle for Biafra restoration, he also made it known to the members that the freedom of Biafra must not go beyond this year 2018, irrespective of what the enemies are doing. Mazi Jumbo Chukwu who is the coordinator of Arondizogu in Abia state Biafra land but a native of Ebonyi state, while addressing the people urged them to help the state executives and try to comply in times of money contribution as to take care of some bills because it cost to run IPOB in all ramifications. The Ebonyi state IPOB chapter also used the privilege of the meeting to appeal on the members both home and abroad to give their full support to the state as to work effectively, in the struggle for Biafra restoration especially as it regards to finance, stating that the state is seriously lacking behind in the area of finance and that has contributed greatly to the lapses witnessed in the state IPOB. Meanwhile, donation of fund was made to settle some important unavoidable bills on the neck of the state.
A member from Ebonyi north senatorial district who spoke on the condition of anonymity talked on the issue of command and control in the struggle to restore Biafra, he pointed out that it is unfair on how the order issued by the state coordinator is being violated not minding where it comes from, he equally suggest that seminars and workshop should be organized by different zones in the state and beyond to educate our people on how to conduct and live their lives so that we will not have records of what happens in Nigeria when Biafra is totally restored.
The meeting which lasted about five hours ended at the hour of 5:00pm with prayers, followed with a closing remark from the state coordinator of IPOB Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya where he appreciated those that made it to attend the meeting despite all odd.
