Buhari: the lying old man |

“This is not a Broadcast; it's a Presidential Threat
to all Nigerians. What an irresponsible Speech from a Manner-less President” that
was how a certain John Junior described the recent rants of Muhammadu Buhari, in
what he called a national broadcast.
Buhari, who had been on national AWOL (absence
without official leave) for more than three months, came home hours ago and
decided to speak to his countrymen. What the school dropout – who did not have
even a school certificate – told his gullible countrymen, showed that his
problem has gone beyond lack of education to lying rants.
His first lie: “The national consensus is that, it
is better to live together than to live apart.” He has not conducted any
research anywhere; he has not held a referendum, yet he had the temerity to
tell such a blatant lie of knowing what the consensus of the people is. What Biafrans
are asking for is referendum to determine those that want to remain in the
contraption called Nigeria, which he and his Northern hegemony agents have been
resisting, and yet he claims Nigeria had a consensus on the subject. Buhari is
an incorrigible liar.
Buhari has always been a liar, together with men of
his government. But to now lie against the dead shows that he is now beyond
redemption. It shows he is getting worse with age. It shows he is a shameless
liar. This was his lie against late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the first
Biafran Head of State: “After I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka
Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura. Over two days we
discussed in great depth till late into the night and analysed the problems of
Nigeria. We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and
united. I am charging the security agencies not to let the successes achieved in
the last 18 months be a sign to relax.”
First he said Ojukwu spent two days in his Daura
house as a guest. Well, according to him, he had no house in the village worthy
enough that Ojukwu could stay with him for even an hour. That was a lie. Second,
he claimed he analyzed issues of unity with Ojukwu and they agreed that Nigeria
MUST remain one. To start with, Ojukwu could not have taken such a position
with anyone. He was nobody then, and nobody sent them to go and discuss “Nigerian
unity” for them. Third, there is no way any
such decisions will be binding on the people. Forth (but not the least), the
condition in those days are not the same with the condition today. Even if
Ojukwu agreed with them then, things would be different today because conditions
have so changed today that more Biafrans want the restoration of their country.
Buhari, after you and your cohorts have done with
lying; after you are done with your tomfoolery Nigerian “unity” being
non-negotiable, you must give Biafrans a date for referendum on Biafra exit
from Nigeria. Biafrans want out of the evil contraption called Nigeria. It is
within their rights to demand that; and it must be granted them.
