My fellow countrymen!
For how long shall this continue
This democratic-slavery
When would we be lead like humans
And not like Fulani Cattle
That we wander like day-night
My fellow countrymen!
When will our chains break
Our fruit of labor is decaying
No good storage; no reaping
When shall we set ourselves free
Free from our demonic-saviors
Who vow never to make us smile
My fellow countrymen!
Freedom is not like the wind
Which we must wait for
Before breathing in life
No! it is not a groom
Which we must wait for
Before proving our fertility
Neither is it like the rain
That must on its own bless us
As we watch and hope
We are the grooms; freedom the bride
We are the helpers our nation the needy
We are the hunter; Liberty the Antelope
For us to celebrate with meat
My fellow countrymen!
We must hunt for Antelope.
