"Go and tell them that Biafra is coming and no man or woman can stop the restoration of Biafra, no amount of bribery can stop the restoration of Biafra" said Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the occasion of the visit of both the riverine communities of Biafra land and the IPOB media team on the 22nd day of June 2017.
The Indigenous people of Biafra family from Yenagoa , Bayelsa state who visited their leader Mazi Nnamdi kanu made history on that day with their gifts signifying many qualities of the director of the popular Radio Biafra. It is important to note that the name Niger delta and south south were given to Biafrans in the riverine areas like Igweocha (Portharcourt) Bayelsa, cross river states and beyond.
These names were given to them during the regime of former president Olusegun Obasanjo under divide and rule tactics of Nigeria. The idea was to create enemity between the Biafrans from the up land and their cousins from the riverine areas.
An elderly man interviewed, Elder Colomubus Zemadu from yenagoa of Bayelsa state said that they came to know this name now that he is an adult. According to him "as a youth there was no such thing and no one taught us that name in school".
He blamed the youths for accepting such dirty name, which clearly separated them from the rest of their Biafra brethren. He revealed "this is for Nigerian government to take the Oil and gas that Chukwu Okike Abiama has given to us and our generations to come. He lamented the removal of the Bight of Biafra from the ancient world map and the evils of not teaching of Biafra history in schools.
He said that the Bight of Biafra was there before the creation of the contraption called Nigeria.
Further, he revealed that their purpose of coming to Isi Ama Afara Ukwu was to pay a solidarity visit to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who had made them to realize whom they are and where they are designed to be in life.
On his own part, Mr.Hezekaiah Thomas Akpan, said, "the Hausa Fulani created the name Niger delta and south south to divide them and their Ibo brothers and moreover there is no such name like south south geographically in the world map". He also cited the (4) four markets days of the Igbos and said it was the same in his land. - Eke,Orie,Nkwo and Afor. He declared that the struggle for the restoration of Biafra nation is not for the Igbo man alone. "Fighting for the restoration is for all Biafrans and not for Igbo speaking Biafrans only". He maintained.
He believes Nigeria cannot deceive them again about their Igbo brothers. He went on to say that the restoration of Biafra is their only hope.
