This very rumour traveling around the town is better treated as baseless and a frantic effort of rumourmongers and anti-Biafrans to defame the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. IPOB members and indeed the general public should disregard this for it appears to be a mere disparagement.
If Primus Odili, who is said to be an aide
to Governor Obiano, claims delivery of the gift items then he should publicize pictorial evidence as a proof or be sunk in deafening silence.
We have seen his type. We have watched series of similar drama play out over time in this country. It is not new to us. It happened just a few days ago in Abuja where 'Whistle blowers' cried wolf at Senator Ike Ekweremadu's residence. That is what these unscrupulous character assassins are known for. They can do anything to satisfy their paymasters and to have their names retained on the payroll.
Is it not obvious that his Excellency is not in good books of 'Agu n'eche Mba 1' of Biafra? He allegedly ordered the slaughter of unarmed pro-Biafra agitators who were demanding for unconditional release of their incarcerated leader, the same person that he (the Governor) is claimed to have given a gift worth over N80m.
What is the rational behind such gift, anyway? Is a gift of apology or reunion? Governor Obiano and Nnamdi Kanu have never been paired as best of friends even before the later was illegally detained by Buhari regime. So, why the gift?
However, if Governor Obiano gave such gift as alleged, or hopes to, in order to woo political support, then his attitude calls for immediate 'head examination'. It means he is not so much of an intelligent person; if he were, he ought to understand that Kanu, spearheading a group fighting for independence from Nigeria cannot at the same time be a party to Nigerian political system or lend support to any Nigerian politician.
This rumour is indeed too tiny to tarnish the gigantic public image of the new Biafra leader.
The success of 30th May has widened the eyes of southeast politicians to the reality, they now know the true leader of the people.
